Comité En Unión para Salvadoreños (CEUS) celebrated 16 years of serving the Hispanic community on May 9, 2009 with a gala dinner. |
|
The event, at the Hilton Newark Airport in Elizabeth, featured dance presentations, a poet and fine food, and attracted more than 125 people. CEUS also honored four people (left) for their great work with the community or personal achievements (see left). See the photos (right) and commemorative journal (above). |

The speakers included Richard L. Cañas (right), the New Jersey Director of Homeland Security. Cañas, a Salvadoran native, represented Governor Jon Corzine, who could not attend. Press the photo to the right and journal cover, above, to see scenes from the dinner and learn more about the event.
